Overview

A data intelligence platform needed a visual identity that could make an invisible technical problem feel solved.

Octopai built an automated, cross-platform data intelligence search engine that helps BI teams discover and govern shared metadata, with fully automated data mapping that cuts mapping time by 80% and doubles a BI team's capacity. I led the rebrand of Octopai's full identity and website, built around one governing idea, the whole is more than the sum of its parts.

Problem

Octopai's product solves something genuinely hard to see, metadata scattered across disconnected BI systems, made whole and governable. The identity had to prove that same capability at a glance, standing out in a crowded, technical BI and data governance category without leaning on the generic abstract-node-network look most data platforms default to.

Solution

I designed the desktop and mobile UI for Octopai's Data Catalog and dashboard, including the linked-assets and add-assets flows, plus a set of supporting icons and marketing assets used across the site. The result carried the rebrand's identity system all the way into the product experience, so the interface felt like part of the same coherent whole the new brand was built to represent.
